Schatar
I recently ran into Schatar “Hottie” Taylor while out in
L.A.  Here are some excerpts from our conversation:

LB: Do you have any comments about the Flavor of
Love Reunion Special?

Schatar: As you know the show has the highest rated
premier in the history of the VH1 network, so that was
awesome. And I was glad to be able to point out that
through the entire season of Flavor of Love season 1
and Flavor of Love season 2, I never compromised
my morals to do either show. I never took off my
clothes, slept with anyone to win either show and I did
not use profanity or call any of the women the “B”
word, so a lot of parents appreciate that and they tell
me that they appreciate that when they’re watching it
with their families. A lot of mothers tell me that they
appreciate it, and so I’m happy to have done it.
Schatar: I’m not there to judge the behavior of any of the other girls or even of the
judges. I was hoping to go to do a show that would get a clear point across without
erupting into a violent situation. But I just literally just sat there with my hands on my
face and my mouth, just like what is going on.

LB: I think the rest of America did too. Do you have any regrets from doing the show?

Schatar: I do not have any regrets for doing the show. When I first received the call about the
show Charm School, I got a call from the executive producer of Flavor of Love who said this is
the call you’ve been waiting for. We’re doing a new show called Charm School. My response
to him was that I did not need Charm School, that I’m already charming. But I thought that I
would have a chance to make a difference, maybe do some volunteer work or have
an opportunity to participate with a charity and really make a difference in that way, so I
agreed to do the show.

LB: I know you been in some movies.  Are there any more projects in the works for you?

Schatar: I am so fortunate to have been in the movie “High Roller”. Starring Michael Imperioli
of the Sopranos. I play a Las Vegas poker dealer in that film and it is a New Line Cinema
release that is now available on DVD. I made a cameo in the film “Waist Deep” starring
Tyrese Gibson, which came out in ’06. And currently running on BET there is a show called
25 Most Fabulous Freaks. I’m not one of the freaks on the show. I’m the commentator
for the show. And I currently have a cd single out that premiered the first week on CD Baby
Top 40 at the # 7 spot.  And people can hear an audio sample of that single at:
www.cdbaby.com/itsmoneybanks.

LB: Is your album almost done?

Schatar: I am recording right now with a producer, named Eric Man Man Lyons. Eric Man Man
Lyons is the producer in which I produced a spoof on the Hottie character of the Flavor Of
Love, which is on
www.youtube.com right now, and it has over 170,000 hits.  I currently have
the new single out called Its Money Banks, produced by Eric Man Man Lyons. And I’m in the
studio with an original member of Earth Wind and Fire, Michael Beale.

LB: Do you have a website that your fans can go to as well?

Schatar: Yes I do. I’m passionate about music. I’m a vocalist with a five-octave range and my
music site is
www.myspace.com/moneybanksmusic and my fan site is www.schatar.com,
and they can sign in on the guest book and see things that are going on.

LB: On the show they poked fun at you every time you blinked. Do you have any comments on
that?

Schatar: The audio engineers for the show had so much fun. I had no idea they were going to
add an audio cue every time I blinked, but I found it hilarious.

LB: Would you ever do reality TV again in the future?

Schatar: I do plan to star in my own reality show. An idea that is being discussed right now is
a show called Shopping Couture With Schatar. Because as you know after the fashion
episode, I was asked by so many fans if  I’m starting my own line. So Couture is something I
love to wear. It’s a wearable art form usually just one of a kind pieces. And I would love to do
that sort of show.

LB: Do you have any comments about your hair’s five-year warranty?

Schatar: Well I have to say that I’m glad I thought ahead to purchase some controversial hair
for the show to give people something to talk about. The hair on the show is guaranteed for
five years. That does not mean that I keep the extensions on for five years. Of course a diva
has to go through maintenance, make sure its taken care of, its clean and looking great. But
the hair itself is guaranteed for five years.

LB: I know on the show, you mentioned that you are a descendant of royalty. Can you tell me
a little more about that?

Schatar: Yes I can. The specifics and facts are on my website www.schatar.com, but I am a
direct descendant of Madagascan royalty.
