Def Jam recording artist Chrisette Michele recently performed in Chicago
along with Koch Records recording artist Dwele at Heineken's Red Star
Soul concert. This year the concert series took place in 9 different cities
across the country, with different artists performing at each location.  A
few hours before the concert in Chicago,  Chrisette Michele took time out
to stop by the South Central Community Center in the Chatham
neighborhood on Chicago's south side. While there she spoke with youth
who are involved in the community center's Positive Youth Intervention
Program (PYIP).  The program was created to assist in creating a more
positive path for inner city youth. The program exposes youth to lesson
plans and activities that include basic life and peer relationship building
skills, in order to promote positive social, emotional, professional and
spiritual development.  For more information about the Positive Youth
Intervention Program, contact Dr. Reneè Matthews at (248)346-8663 or
e-mail Dr. Reneè at publicist@matthewsent.com.  Check out photos from
the South Central Community Center event as well as the Heineken Red
Star Soul concert below.
